SPECIO by Cyme

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about how Specio identifies animals in your photo library — on your own machine, without uploading anything.

Do my photos go to the cloud?

No. All analysis runs locally on your Mac (Neural Engine and GPU). Your images never leave your computer; results live in a local database.

Is Specio available on Mac and Windows?

Yes. Specio ships for both macOS and Windows, with the same features on each. On Mac it uses the Apple Neural Engine, on Windows the GPU — one licence, whichever machine you work on.

Does Specio work with Lightroom CC?

Specio works with Lightroom Classic, the desktop catalog app. It does not work with Lightroom CC / cloud — but it also analyzes Apple Photos, Google Photos and plain folders.

What if a species is wrong?

That happens now and then — Specio suggests, you decide. Pick the right candidate in the identification studio or identify manually: the keywords correct themselves.

Does Specio modify my files?

Never. Specio only adds keywords to your catalog. It touches neither your pixels, nor your develop settings, nor your originals.

What about big RAW catalogs?

Generate standard previews in Lightroom first (Library ▸ Previews): analysis gets much faster. You can pause and resume it at any time.
